I actually wanna rewatch One Piece now. When I first watched One Piece I was like 5 and my dad showed me it (MVP dad for showing me this under dressed anime aimed for teenagers and rated R-13 to my 5 year old self and got me into the Otaku business and made into who I am today so thank you, dad

The introduction of Usopp reminds me of that story about a man who keeps lying and false alarming people in their village up to the point where no one believe it anymore and on the time where his alarming is actually real, no one believe him. IDK where I heard that story and I don't remember anything about it other than what I just said.

Edit: I done a little research and found the story, it is called "The Boy Who Cried Wolf" the story goes like this;

The tale concerns a shepherd boy who repeatedly tricks nearby villagers into thinking a wolf is attacking his town's flock. When a wolf actually does appear and the boy again calls for help, the villagers believe that it is another false alarm and the sheep are eaten by the wolf.

Based on Wikipedia too, the person who wrote that very short story is called "Aesop" which is interesting because Usopp's name is very close to Aesop. That make it obvious that Oda referenced that short story. Truly amazing
